Service Dog Nightmare

It so happens that I was traveling last week with my service dog and wife (who is also my caregiver) on an Alaska airlines flight from Seattle to Phoenix. When we made the reservations thru Alaska we informed them that my service dog was traveling and requested the ADA bulkhead seating. We were told “no problem, it was noted in our flight plan.” The day before traveling I called back to confirm that we had the bulkhead seats, again told no problem. Next morning we arrive and find out we are sitting in row 24. We asked why not the bulkhead as we requested. Front counter tells us that it would have to be changed at the gate. We get to our gate and guess what, “we are sorry those seats have already been given to elderly travelers.” OK, I understand that. What about the other side of the plane? “We are sorry those are not ADA seats and people have paid extra money for those.” So we go to our seats in the back and my 80 lbs lab crams under the seat. When we go to get off the plane he is stuck on something and I have to unhook him. When we get to the hotel I notice he was injured during that crap show. Totally unacceptable Alaska !
